Responsibilities

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer reports to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, as a member of the Diagnostic Imaging Team performs patient care, technical activities and duties directly related to the overall functioning of the department. The purpose of this position involves the performance of routine and specialized ultrasound procedures in the Diagnostic Imaging Department ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound Program
  • Current (or eligible) for registration with NSCMIRTP
  • Current credentialed member of Sonography Canada
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Good interpersonal and verbal and written skills
  • Comprehension of the technical language in order to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Previous experience is an asset
  • Registration with more than one ultrasound credential is an asset
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work

Permanent part-time (40%) position; 30 Hours bi-weekly

Salary Information

$32.1105 - $37.4729 hourly
