Company Description

Savage Custom Fabrication Inc. is a welding company based out of Hay River NWT, we specialize in Heavy and light duty equipment repairs, bucket rebuilds, structural and fabrication along marine vessel repairs.

Role Description

This position is remote and based out of Hay River, NT Canada, this position with Savage Custom Fabrication Inc. is temporary but may lead to long-term based on the performance of the welder. The Welder will be responsible for welding materials according to engineering specifications, and blueprints, while also filing time sheets. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of welding equipment and hand tools. The work that will take place will be maintenance repairs on marine vessels, which include crack repairs sectioned repairs, and modifications. The worker must have experience working in confined spaces working at heights and knowledge of setting up for proper ventilation.

Qualifications

• 5 years experience as a Welder
• Red Seal Journeyman ticket
• CWB Stick, flux core, is beneficial
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Experience using hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
• Knowledge of metallurgy and welding techniques, along with the ability to select and adjust welding equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality control inspections
• Excellent dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification or training in welding techniques is a plus
• Experience working with aluminum is a plus
• Experience working in confined spaces and working at heights
