The Housing and Ancillary Services team manages 4,940 student beds in 18 residence buildings, as well as off-campus rental apartment and housing properties, three dining halls, numerous retail foodservice locations on campus, the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre, Event Services and the Enrichment Studies Unit. Residence buildings also provide temporary accommodations for the summer conference, events and tourism markets. Revenue and services from these units support vital student life programs and contribute to the University’s learning environment.

The Web System Analyst is responsible for the design, development and maintenance of the unit’s Web presence and related Internet Services for all areas that fall within Housing and Ancillary Services. The incumbent assists in setting standards, planning and evaluating the department’s Web presence by providing input to and ensuring the delivery of planned services. They will be responsible for design and implementation of Internet based analytic tools including but not limited to Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Site Improve.

This position provides advice and expertise related to a variety of website design needs. This position designs web-based processes and solutions to support a variety of administrative tasks. This position also maintains operational systems with appropriate back-up, maintenance, and upgrades.

  • Develops and implements usage analytics to support web development.
  • Creates and implements new webpages.
  • Develops training materials and detailed documentation for end users.
  • Installs, documents, and administers web-based applications.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Three-year Community College Diploma or Three-Year Bachelor Degree, or equivalent. In addition, requires trade certification, qualification, or on-going learning to remain ahead of changes in technology or emerging fields.

Required Experience

  • More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in web design and website content development and management tools considered an asset (e.g., DreamWeaver, FrontPage, etc.). and
  • Experience with assessing emerging trends, technologies, electronic platforms and potential digital business opportunities considered an asset (e.g., social media, etc.).

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
  • Vulnerable Sector Screening required.

Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
