Job Summary:
As a WMS Specialist, you will be involved in all aspects of our WMS solutions and support. You will work closely with our clients, operational sites and user community and must demonstrate a high level of functional and some technical knowledge to ensure we provide the best possible solution and support. With a hand in designing, developing, testing, training, implementing, and supporting our services and solutions. you will gain a deep understanding of supply chain solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides day to day WMS support for our user community.
  • Understands how to leverage the knowledge of our team to expedite your WMS knowledge and expertise.
  • Ability to effectively communicate, work with and liaise between customer team members (users, management, IT), internal team members and other contractors.
  • Researches, creates operational process maps, captures data, and creates documentation to develop a thorough understanding of requirements. Utilizes this information to create best practice solutions.
  • Delivers tasks and assignments with high quality, within the agreed upon budgetary and time constraints in accordance to agreed expectations.
  • Work on-site and remotely during project stages, system installation, user acceptance testing, go live support, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Transform customer’s functional designs/specifications into system designs, develops the solution, performs unit testing and debugging, implements and supports the final solution.
  • Work closely with clients, project leaders and internal team members on customer requirements and development. Translate functional requirements into solutions by means of application configuration and/or software development
  • Ensure your time is accurately captured and reported in Ace to enable accurate invoicing for your services.
  • Take personal ownership in learning and enhancing your knowledge of the system capabilities and offerings.
  • 80% your day to day assignments and tasks will be functional and 20% will be technical
  • Carries out any other related task assigned by your direct Senior Manager.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and escalate any non-routine decisions to experts amongst your team.
  • Strong attention to detail and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and solve problems to resolution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work in a customer focused environment.
  • Able to adapt to change and easily adopt new methods and practices required to meet changing business needs.
  • Learns quickly and gathers knowledge from others.
  • Some knowledge of WMS system and supply chain is an asset.
Technical Skills:
  • The following programming skills are definitely an asset:
  • Experience with Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Knowledge and experience with C/C++, C#, Java, or other relevant programming experience
  • Operating systems – Windows and UNIX
  • XML/HTML, scripting languages
  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Visio
  • Functional and/or Technical Expertise in JDA, HighJump, SAP or other Supply Chain Software systems (e.g., WMS, WFM) is a definite asset.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following: Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer/Software Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
Working conditions:
  • Able to work a flexible work schedule including evenings, nights and weekends when required.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task.
  • Able & willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
  • Canadian or US Citizenship is important due to travel requirements – Must Have.
