This position reports into the Manager, Transportation Canada and is based at 88 McNabb St, Markham, ON.

What will you do

The Transportation Analyst is responsible for helping assist and support the strategic focus and direction pertaining to inbound and outbound transportation to meet business critical objectives. They will provide support related to day-to-day operations, transportation optimization improvements, and be the driving factor in the area of metrics analytics, while also assisting with the priorities and deliverables within the scope of the Senior Analysts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domestics and International Logistics Management
o Provide operational support to all business partners as appropriate
o Support inbound and outbound transportation to facilitate on time pick up at supplier and/or on time delivery at Canadian DCs and customer facilities
o Manage shipment exceptions and associated escalations
o Support customer reverse logistics
o Adhere to regulations for customs clearance and expedient clearance of goods
  • Metrics and Performance
o Support key performance indicators around carrier performance, carrier compliance, transportation cost, on time pick-up, on time delivery, and shipment profiles
o Participate in ongoing carrier performance review sessions
  • Process Compliance and Innovation
o Support initiatives and processes relating to compliance requirements including SOX, Regulatory, GMP, QA, and Regulatory
o Support initiatives and processes relating to transportation efficiencies and supplier quality management
o Support projects to achieve Customer Logistics, RTO and/or business unit goals around process efficiency or cost effectiveness
o Complete compliance and job training as assigned
  • Transportation Consultation and Innovation
o Develop knowledge to support use of ERP and TMS systems and any associated interfaces with suppliers or service providers
o Support Manager/Senior Transportation Analyst in conducting analysis on transportation activity; identifying and presenting opportunities / recommendations to all business partners
o Remain current in industry expertise through industry involvement, education programs, and liaison with other logistics organizations
o Support Manager/Senior Transportation Analyst on special events such as Consumer cross-functional meeting
  • Business Unit and Partner Relationship Management
o Act as primary RTO contact for Deliver Canada to support daily operational requirements
o Manage key metrics and assess root cause analysis
o Present KPIs at regularly scheduled operational meetings
o Manage rush and hot code outbound/inbound receiving process as required
Qualifications


What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • University Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering or college diploma in related discipline preferred
  • 0 - 2 years’ minimum experience in transportation / customs / supply chain

Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in Transportation, Customs or Logistics (CITT, PLog) would be of benefit
  • Strong data and process analysis capabilities / problem solver
  • Strong communication skills
  • Technological aptitude (especially with Microsoft Office Suite); experience with ERPs & TMS preferred
  • Interdependent partnering skills – able to work directly with customers and business partners to identify requirements and meet operational needs
  • Excellent multitasking abilities; well organized
  • Able to work in high stress environment; strong sense of urgency
  • Collaborative and team focused with the ability to work independently
  • Self-motivated, challenges the status quo
