We are currently looking for a Transit Driver (evening shift) to join our Transportation team in Regina, SK.

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transit Driver is responsible for transporting loaded and empty Gordon Food Service trailers from Distribution Centres or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Transports loaded and empty Gordon Food Service trailers from Distribution Centres or from point-to-point via night transit in a timely manner;
• Collaborates with the Manager and Lead Hands for work assignments, changes in assignment and on-time delivery performance of work assignments
• Performs proper equipment maintenance, monitors refrigeration unit, and report maintenance issues and all physical damages
• Completes driver check-ins as required
• Maintains safe work and safe driving practices
• Performs daily pre/post trip inspection of vehicles to include proper completion of paperwork and inspection forms, and entering route information into the computer system
• Maintains accurate and complete required DOT and GFS logs daily
• Adheres to the mission and cornerstone values and applicable practices of the organization
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  

Education, Skills & Competencies

• Class 1A driver’s license
• LCV certification
• High school diploma
• Works well unsupervised and is self- motivated
• Must be able to do physical work (walking, bending, lifting, pulling, etc.) and lift up to 80 lbs
• Must have a passion for customer service
• Strong attention to detail
• Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work holidays
• Must have a passion for Customer Service
• Ability to work in a fast paced, physically challenging environment
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
