THE OPPORTUNITY

The Total Rewards Manager will be responsible for managing the research, design, and execution of the company’s overall compensation and benefits programs. The Total Rewards Manager will apply their expertise in developing compensation and benefits strategies.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contributes to the design and ongoing management off market-based compensation plans, sales plans, and special compensation programs
  • Annually participates in salary surveys
  • Implements the compensation philosophy, including compensation guidelines/policies and programs that support the business strategy and that enables it to attract and retain high performing employees
  • Manages the annual salary administration and variable compensation pay process
  • Maintains job classifications, leveling and title structures
  • Provides advice to Managers on pay decisions and salary treatment for promotions, transfers, and job evaluation
  • Designs, recommends, and manages employee recognition programs
  • Oversees overall administration of the Canadian benefit plans, manages the annual benefits renewal process, and recommends cost controls and enhancements
  • Reviews and analyzes competitive benefits data, summarizes analysis results, and prepares recommendations for updates and changes as needed
  • Manages the communication and plan design of employee benefits programs
  • Acts as main point of contact with Benefits Consultants, third party administrators, and other benefit vendors as needed
  • Oversees the Employer Retirement Savings plan (RRSP) including consultation with consultants on plan changes and administration

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in compensation and benefits management
  • CPHR designation preferred
  • Compensation Management Specialist (CMS) and/or Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) would be an asset
  • Hands on experience in the design of compensation programs and systems in Canada and the US is required
  • Expertise/experience in US benefits would be an asset
  • Expertise in broad based compensation programs
  • Strong experience with reviewing and analyzing compensation data
  • Previous benefits administration experience is required
