Engineering Co-op Student

(Fall Term)

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Work will be primarily be related to Land Development and Municipal Infrastructure projects
  • Assisting the engineering team with Land Development projects, including the completion of stormwater management modelling, report writing, site grading and servicing design, preparation of sewer design sheets, and preparation of cost estimates.
  • Completing stormwater modelling using PCSWMM, MIDUSS and OTTHYMO.
  • Completing floodplain analysis using HEC-RAS.
  • Assisting with the preparation of proposals.
  • Carrying out field work with the oversight of senior staff, including topographic surveys and construction inspections.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Currently working towards a degree in an Engineering Program. Preference will be given to those specializing in water resources or environmental engineering.
  • Past co-op experience is an asset. An upper year student is also preferred.
  • Ability to work Fall Term Co-op
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also being self-motivated.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Experience with AutoCad is an asset.
