Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes computer-related needs on request by departments across the City for larger-scale, complex, or high risk projects.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and tests custom software solutions.
  • Maintains, enhances, troubleshoots, debugs problems with existing software.
  • Provides training and support to clients and other IT staff.
  • Provides input to management decision-making processes.
  • Gathers business requirements through consultation with internal user groups.
  • Provides business and technical computer systems analysis to internal clients including individuals, business areas, divisions, departments, or groups of divisions/departments and committees.
  • Creates complex formal documents that form the basis for analysis, design, development and implementation.
  • Creates technical specifications that provide the foundation for user and quality assurance system testing and computer software development.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves SAP related issues.
  • Develops and implements code to fulfill business requirements and unit tests code to confirm requirements are met.

Requirements:
  • 3-year degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Computer Science).
  • Must have at least 2-4 years of ABAP programming experience.
  • Preference given for experience in FICO, FICA, MM, DM, BRF+, CRM, MCF.
  • Preference given for experience in Municipal government and/or utilities industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with software development lifecycles and application of programming best practices.
  • Analytic skills to provide systems analysis and to design solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to collect business requirements and to convey information concerning technical solutions to both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
