Overview

The Systems Analyst is responsible for identifying business needs and finding solutions using existing or new technology, working with business subject matter experts and IT counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Interact with subject matter experts in various business functions to learn about day-to-day problems that can be resolved with system enhancements or adjustments.
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather process information, functional requirements and business process flows
• Create technology and/or process-based solutions for these business problems, working with other members of the IT team as necessary.
• Create technical requirements documentation, SOPs and training content for internal users
• Act as the bridge between business and IT to ensure the solution is developed to effectively and efficiently solve the business problem
• Perform solution testing, assist subject matter experts with user acceptance testing, provide end-user training if necessary and occasionally help with support.
• Participate in the end-to-end implementation of solutions
• Co-ordinate with colleagues, vendors and/or third parties when necessary
• Communicate system impact/changes to users and IT, updating SOPs as required
• Occasionally write SQL queries to retrieve ad-hoc data sets in order to find answers

Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in systems analysis, preferably in a Distribution organization
• Demonstrated experience in Business Analysis, requirements capture and process design/documentation
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 suite, strong working knowledge of Excel
• Strong communication skills and ability to communicate effectively at different levels across the organization
• Ability to write technical documentation and user manuals
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities across projects and workflow streams
• Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Understanding of Distribution and/or Warehouse Management processes would be an asset
