Job Duties
  • Provides input for employee performance evaluations
  • Schedules and supervises employees and assigns shift work assignments
  • Assists with the implementation of Surveillance Operations strategic plans
  • Verifies timesheets
  • Monitors, documents and reports violations, large cash/cash equivalent transactions, excluded and self-excluded guests and unauthorized access; reports violations to the Manager, Surveillance
  • Maintains logs and writes records, stores records securely for evidence purposes
  • Monitors, documents and reports on the condition of surveillance facilities and equipment and maintains a preventative maintenance schedule
  • Reviews special investigation results or requests as directed and provides reporting
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders (guests, ownership and employees)
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed
  • Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious in your demeanor
  • Chooses to make everyday a great day

  • Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
Minimum Qualifications
  • Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
  • Minimum Grade 12 education (or equivalent) is required
  • NSCC Surveillance Certification is required (provided upon hiring)
  • Must be certified by the Nova Scotia Alcohol & Gaming Division
  • Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Previous casino experience is an asset
  • Minimum 4 years of surveillance or security experience is required
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership or management role an asset
  • Must have a thorough knowledge of the Surveillance Department’s role as a support function, and its mandate as it relates to the NS Gaming Regulations, casino internal controls, policies and procedures, is required
  • Must have sound decision-making abilities and must excel in weighing risks within the regulated environment
  • Must be a self-starter who can work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
