MHICA’s technicians build and join wing assemblies and fuselage sections, as well as perform systems and flight control assembly installations and testing.
Scope of Position


Reporting to the Manager – Supplier Quality, the Engineer – Supplier Quality is a key member of the Supply Chain team to establish and lead the implementation of a supplier development program for strategic and key suppliers in order to achieve and sustain high levels of supply chain performance.
  • Drive supplier quality performance by implementation of appropriate supplier controls.
  • Drive suppliers to develop and implement quality related KPI’s in support of business targets.
  • Ensure all supplier non-conformances are identified and managed in a timely manner to minimize risk to the company and are documented to maintain a history of supplier performance, with preventive action implemented robustly at the source of the root cause.
  • Maintain appropriate measures of performance for non-conformances to drive root cause analysis and associated corrective actions (RCCA). Manage action plans to implement improvements.
  • Conduct and maintain risk analysis of critical parts and generate effective actions at suppliers to minimize risk of interruption to supply.
  • Create and manage product and process audits to prevent failures in the suppliers manufacturing processes or product conformity.
  • Identify areas for process improvement at key suppliers related to supplier performance based on related quality KPI’s.
  • Evaluate capacity and confirm suppliers’ ability to meet scheduled requirements through production readiness assessments. Evaluate and approve new suppliers based on their third-party Quality System certifications and audit results.
  • Manage the interface with various functions (Engineering, Methods) to sponsor supplier-initiated design changes to improve product yield, performance and to minimize risk.
  • Assist with the supplier audit plan including scheduling and conducting audits.
  • Maintain the approved supplier list and supplier files/records.
  • Administer the certified supplier program.

Skills and Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Understanding on reading of drawings and technical specifications. The application of GD&T against drawing tolerances is a requirement.
  • Candidate must demonstrate an understanding of quality inspection, use of inspection tools to inspect conformance of parts.
  • Ability to lead by example and work within a multifunctional team.
  • Working knowledge of lean implementation.
  • Good interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
  • Advanced MS Office application skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience in the development and sourcing of products from domestic and international suppliers.
  • Experience in aerospace quality, supplier management, and project management is preferred.
  • Experience in process capability improvement and structured problem solving in machining and/or electronics environment. Candidates with aerospace is preferred, or automotive background is an asset.

Education
  • Engineering Degree or related discipline preferred.
