Cascade is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Supervisor. The Quality Assurance Supervisor ensures Cascade Aerospace’s compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s), DND Technical Airworthiness Manual (TAM),International Standards Organization - Aerospace Standards (ISO-AS), Cascade policy and procedures, and customer requirements. This position is also responsible for auditing those stated policies and procedures, auditing the facilities, outside contractors, and suppliers.

Major Responsibilities And Duties

  • Provide input to the QA Manager for Quality Management System (QMS) KPI’s for analysis and trending.
  • Ensure Cascade Aerospace’s compliance with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR’s) and to the company’s manuals (QP and MMPM), with respect to the auditing of the facilities, outside contractors and suppliers.
  • Audit all functional areas within Cascade Aerospace’s facility, to ensure compliance to the applicable regulatory and company policy and procedures.
  • Conduct Post Audit meetings to review and assign responsibilities for non-conformances or observations identified during audits.
  • Ensure compliance for all Cascade Aerospace service suppliers through on site external audits and/or mail out audit questionnaires
  • Maintain vendor audit records and audit schedule.
  • Make personnel aware of any compliance discrepancies that exist within their shop or work areas.
  • Provide guidance with root cause analysis and corrective action planning for QMS activities.
  • Assists accountable managers and personnel managing the SMS in root cause analysis.
  • Assist stakeholders with the development and continuous improvement of Cascade processes.
  • Liaise with FAA, TCCA and Customers.
  • Represent the company Quality programs and Initiatives.
  • Represent the company during audits.
  • Interface with all company departments.
  • Liaise with Cascade Aerospace’s Stores Receiving and Purchasing Personnel regarding certification issues, approved vendors and non-conforming products.
  • Clarify the certification requirements of specific incoming products.
  • Approve “one time purchases” for Buyers when purchasing parts.
  • Interpret Canadian Aviation Regulations requirements and Cascade Aerospace policies and procedures for company personnel to maintain compliance.
  • Provide support for employees to explain regulations and clarify any certification issues and/or questions that may arise.
  • Amend or write Cascade Quality Department policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develops and maintains audit checklists to ensure that audits are conducted to current standards.
  • Ensures by audit that procedures and specifications meet standards acceptable to the company, DND, Transport Canada, and our customers. Leads and directs the audit activities for the continuing analysis and surveillance of the AMO organization to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and customer requirements.
  • Exercises complete organizational freedom to identify and evaluate all quality issues including failures, service difficulty reports, and customer reported discrepancies and recommend solutions to the Cascade Senior Leadership.
  • Administers the recording, correction and verification of audit findings, both internal and external.
  • Perform a daily walk around of the facilities and frequently visit the dock areas to discuss issues brought forward by management and/or personnel.
  • Be familiar with and ensure that all workplace conduct is in accordance with Cascade Aerospace’s Human Resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and monitor the HQMS Data base.
  • Research system upgrades and provide information regarding suggested improvements.
  • Provide HQMS Data Base training to company employees upon initial hire and update training when requested.
  • Liaise with HQMS System Administrators to troubleshoot and report system errors.
  • Maintain the access list to the HQMS System, add or remove users as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Training And Experience

Education: Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

License / Designations: AME “M2” License or approved equivalent

Experience
  • Minimum 10 years as a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer; or foreign or military equivalent
  • 2 years or more experience conducting audits of maintenance and manufacturing. Completion of industry-recognized auditor or lead auditor training in ISO9001/AS9110 and or AS9100 is preferable.
  • Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9110/AS9100, CARS, TAM, SMS, Maintenance and Manufacturing Regulations and Standards established by Transport Canada and the Department of National Defence.
