We are currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as a Student in the Inspection and Enforcementdepartment. This department focuses on the Board’s interface with the industry. It is responsible for the management of the OEB’s codes and rules, liaising with industry stakeholders, the inspection of regulated entities, the assessment of utility performance, compliance, and enforcement activities and the OEB’s licensing and reporting functions
Responsibilities:
  • Develop planning memorandums, procedures, working papers, briefing notes, closing letters and reports
  • Analysis of regulated entities’ financial and operational information, processes and procedures for performance measures and operational effectiveness
  • Assessment of financial and non-financial performance of regulated entities for compliance with the OEB’s legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Assiting with the development of annual plans based on risk assessment profiles of regulated entities
Qualifications:

Student opportunity from May 2022 - August 2022

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of areas, which will include the following:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with internal and external audiences
  • Experience performing risk assessments, planning inspections, preparing working papers and drafting reports; and analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate financial and non-financial information, identify and analyze issues, and develop recommendations
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office are required
  • Enrollment in post-secondary studies in Accounting, Finance, or Economics and in pursuit of a CPA, CA designation is desirable. Experience in a public accounting firm is desirable
All Ontario Energy Board Employees are required to be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine series, approved by Health Canada, as a condition of hire. Should you be the successful candidate, you will be required to comply with the OEB’s Mandatory Vaccination Policy that is in effect.
