Brunswick News is hiring reporters for paid positions over the summer of 2022 with Atlantic Canada’s most dynamic media group. These are summer jobs for emerging professionals who will help cover the news of New Brunswick. Previous reporting experience is not necessary.

We are offering substantial on-the-job training for students through this program. Our managing editors are adept at coaching and mentoring young journalists and this would be an excellent opportunity to participate in a daily news environment.

Our growing network of media outlets follows a digital-first approach to publishing while serving print readers with three daily newspapers and several weekly newspapers.

We are looking for university and college professionals who have curiosity, a keen news sense, a hunger to find stories and a clean, clear writing style. Photography skills are definitely an asset.

Qualifications

  • University or college-level studies in arts, business, science or journalism.
  • Clear writing style and an ability to work quickly and accurately on deadline.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent command of the English language (French skills are an asset).
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and content.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • A valid driver’s licence. Access to a reliable vehicle is required for some positions.
  • Attention to detail.

To apply, email a cover letter stating you found this job on Jeff Guaulin’s Journalism Board, resume and work samples to careers@brunswicknews.com by March 14, 2022. We thank all candidates for their interest, but only those selected for interviews will be contacted.
