Strategic Buyer

Are you looking for a position that offers growth and security, and the opportunity to own your role? Do you have an interest and exposure to the steel market?

Look no further! We’re Ian Martin Group and we’ve partnered with our client to hire for this role.

If you’re excited to work in a position with autonomy and responsibility at a cutting-edge company with endless growth opportunities, we want to hear from you.

About the role:

Your primary goal in this role will be to manage the full cycle of raw materials procurement.

You’ll use your strategic, analytical mind and expert supply chain knowledge to forecast steel product supply and demand. You’ll ensure timely delivery of the freshest quality materials, at the lowest possible prices.

Your role is twofold. First, you’ll focus on operations and ensure the internal shop is running well. Secondly and most importantly, you’ll focus on strategy. Once you understand how the company runs internally, you should also understand cost savings on a strategic level with the ability to present numbers through a story.

We’ll rely on you to develop purchasing, inventory management, and reporting processes that are both accurate and efficient. There’s a huge opportunity here to showcase your knowledge and skills as you develop systems that we can trust to move us forward through our massive growth.

You have an ability to communicate well across the various functions of a thriving business. You understand the perspective of sales, finance, and logistics and will be our senior leadership’s trusted advisor for all things supply-chain related. You’ll enjoy working collaboratively across our organization, and you’ll ensure that our team has what they need, when they need it.

Beyond that, you can reach outside company walls to build relationships with suppliers and vendors. Your strong negotiation skills will be critical here, and will ensure that we get the best materials at the best prices. You’ll also have a chance to work with our marketing and product development teams, as you handle some sourcing related responsibilities.

This is a role where you will have varied work, autonomy and the opportunity to drive change. You don’t need to be micromanaged, so you’ll appreciate the opportunity to be self-sufficient here. Your big ideas, expertise and drive to achieve will grow our company.
