Job Description

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will drive efficiency and transform RBC’s email channel through automation while leading a team of subject matter experts.


What will you do?

  • Lead a team of subject matter experts in the end-to-end deployment of email campaigns and journeys on behalf of a variety of RBC Royal Bank businesses.
  • Identify opportunities to deliver operational efficiencies in channel processes reducing time-to-market by streamlining manual processes using SalesForce Marketing Cloud platform technology.
  • Champion the creation and execution of the email innovation roadmap by piloting new capabilities (e.g. predictive intelligence, interactive email features) while methodically proving out ROI
  • Coordinate with our email developers to continue to evolve and standardize email templates. Proactively share cross-LOB designs, channel capabilities, best practices and channel guidelines across P&CB.
  • Automate quality assurance checks and ensure it’s embedded in all processes and procedures to continuously provide exceptional experiences for our clients. Setup ongoing quality assurance audits while proactively adapting practices to new technologies and their associated risks.
  • Consult as an email subject matter expert on the client contact strategy by building and implementing client contact rules, inactive re-engagement tactics and overall growth practices in partnership with the CRM team.
  • Using the latest technology, identify and test solutions and opportunities to reduce time-to-market, duplication of work effort and process steps while enhancing end-to-end campaign efficiency. Promote consistency by identifying opportunities to share best practices within and across lines of business.
  • Provide advisory support to business partners on email capabilities. Lead education sessions to help teach various teams and grow RBC’s digital literacy. This includes proactively educating Digital Message capabilities and related new processes.

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in an email-specific role
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in SalesForce Marketing Cloud (formerly ExactTarget)
  • Marketing Cloud Email Specialist Certification
  • Excellent knowledge of email campaign performance metrics and best practices
  • Extensive knowledge of email privacy laws, CASL and CAN-SPAM
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management
  • Knowledge of computer graphics packages such as Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
  • Experienced working in a matrix organization an asset
