The Position

We’re on the hunt for an Electrical Designer/ Senior Electrical Designer on our Robotics & Space Operations team at our Brampton office.

With 40 years of operational experience and proven performance on the iconic Canadarm programs including Space Shuttle and International Space Station robotics and operations support, our Robotics & Space Operations team has 100% mission success in making space dreams come true.

As our Electrical Designer/ Senior Electrical Designer, you will work in the Logistics & Sustaining Engineering (L&SE) program (to support On-Orbit Space Station activities), and/or Gateway External Robotics System, and/or R&D activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare electrical designs for avionics chassis, circuit card assemblies (CCA), printed circuit boards (PCB) and cable harness designs for space and terrestrial applications.
• Understand the client’s requirements
• Suggest new designs that meet the requirements
• Design cable mechanisms for rotary interfaces
• Perform cable routing and 3D modelling
• Integrate the designs taken from electrical engineering, materials, thermal and structural analysis in 3D models
• Develop production, assembly and parts list drawings
• Develop standard manuals, processes and templates
• Experience with NX/Teamcenter, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MS Visio
• Three year engineering technology diploma or Bachelor of Technology degree in design or engineering
• Three to Five years working experience

ASSETS

• Knowledge of geometrical tolerancing, drawing standards
• Knowledge of space sector

Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Engineering or Physics/Applied Mathematics or Engineering Science.
• Proven experience with NX/Teamcenter, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MS Visio
• Three year engineering technology diploma or Bachelor of Technology degree in design or engineering
• Three to Five years working experience- in same or similar role as described above
