Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Mining & Minerals team for Cote Gold Project on a temporary basis (2 month) to provide support to the Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reassess the design foundation due to some changes in geological conditions
  • Redesign process building underside of foundations if necessary
  • Provide structural design and technical support to the construction team
  • Review project documents prior to issue for scope and presentation, including checking for technical accuracy.
  • Coordinating work with other related discipline engineers and designers
  • Defining and recommending design methods, specifications and performance of functional requirements.
  • Responsible to seal (PEO) all drawings that have been prepared under his direction
  • Assure the technical quality of work performed is based upon organizational standards, codes and general knowledge of engineering principles and projects
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Skills / Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Structural Engineering
  • Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario
  • 15+ years of structural design and engineering experience on Industrial Projects
  • Understand North American and Canadian building codes.
  • Previous field experience in Canada will be an asset
  • Hands-on steel and concrete design experience in Mining Industry and Heavy industrial projects
  • Extensive knowledge of STAAD Pro structural analysis and Prostructure 3D modeling software, MicroStation V8 and Autocad.

  • Relocation assistance or living allowances will not be provided for this position.
