As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be responsible and accountable for designing, implementing, and executing of test plans for DevOps ecosystem and using automation techniques to optimize testing activities. Also, you will work closely with the operation and development teams to understand the solution to design, develop, and execute load, stress, and volume tests to check the performance of the DevOps tools and applications.

What will you do?

• Manage project test activities and aligning to RBC Quality Engineering practices while partnering across DevOps Support and COE to plan functional and nonfunctional testing activities
• Design, implement, and execute of test planes and maximizing automation coverage for DevOps tools and applications by leveraging next gen DevOps solutions
• Maintaining existing test plans and documentation as required
• Build performance test plan for DevOps tools and applications
• Identify the type of the test to be executed (Load, Stress, etc)
• Design and create the load profile/load model for each test type (ramp-up/down, steps etc)
• Work in close collaboration with the rest of the team (troubleshooting and resolving issues, increasing efficiencies, etc.)
• Help identify root cause of issues found, assist support and development teams with troubleshooting issues
• Document QA knowledge and communicate them to internal teams when necessary
• Effectively communicates with team members, stakeholders from initiation to close
• Create and provide test execution report to management team
  

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• University degree in Computer Science / Computer Programming / Information Technology or equivalent with 5+ years of professional Quality Engineering and or development experience
• 4 or more years hands on expertise
• creating and executing test plans for complex environment
• Using variety of test automation frameworks or tools (e.g. Robot Framework, Selenium, ReadyAPI, etc) and script development using scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.)
• 2 or more years hands on expertise creating and executing performance test plans using performance testing framework and tools
• 2 or more years working experience in testing integration and processes including integration with the following DevOps tools:
• Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Desk, GitHub, SonarQube, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, Nexus repo or Artifactory, HP ALM and Performance Center
• Proven record of Critical Thinking mindset
• Good communication skills; ability to focus, prioritize, and solve complex technical problems
  

Nice To Have

• Working experience using the following DevOps tools or technologies:
• Checkmarx, NexusIQ, and TFS
• Dynatrace, OpenShift, Pivotal cloud Foundry, and MicroFocus
• Dashboarding in Kibana
• Knowledge of using API and create test cases for API based solutions
• Experience working in Agile environment
