The Empire Life Insurance Company was founded in 1923 in Toronto and is now one of the top 10 life insurance companies in Canada. In 1936, our Corporate Head Office moved to Kingston, Ontario and is now an integral part of the city’s history.

Job Description

• 
  Working on assigned shifts
• Provide proactive and reactive security patrols, and respond to incidents
• Ensures all Security Officers have received the mandatory training
• Write reports and investigate routine incidents
• Respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner

Requirements:

• Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
• Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact, and diplomacy
• Proficient in English both written and spoken
• Valid Standard First Aid/CPR C
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Previous security experience is an asset

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

• Immunization Record
• Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination (site requirement)
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
• Valid First Aid & CPR – Level C
• Valid Ontario Security License

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:

• Customer Service
• Report Writing
• Additional courses as assigned
• Able to obtain clearance of a Vulnerable Sector Check
• Clear background check

Upon hire successful applicants will be required to complete the following Paladin online courses:

• Customer Service
• Patrol Procedures
• Diversity Awareness
• Finding The OHS Manual
• Paladin OHS Orientation
• Dealing with People with Mental Illness
• Workplace Respect
• Slips, Trips, and Falls

• Additional courses as assigned
