Description

Food service supervisors supervise, direct and co-ordinate the activities of workers who prepare, portion and serve food.

Job duties

• Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
• Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers
• Establish work schedules and procedures
• Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
• Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
• May participate in the selection of food service staff and assist in the development of policies, procedures and budgets
• May plan assist with planning menus and determine related food and labour costs.
• Must have knowledge of the establishment’s culinary genres

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 months previous work experience or similar is preferred
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent is required
• Completion of a food service administration, hotel and restaurant management or related discipline is an asset
• Those already in Canada will be given immediate interviews

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
