Job Description

Role: QA Analyst

Our client is a Canadian property investment company, specializing in the identification, financing, acquisition and management of multi-family residential communities in the southern United States. They have offices in Houston and Toronto.

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Candidate Should

The successful candidate will work as part of a distributed team of 21 (14 in Toronto, 7 in Dublin), helping maintain and expand their technology offerings.

• Understand both the business and the technology, bringing this context to the entire development process.
• Be comfortable working as a release manager. Their QA department manages releases and this candidate should be willing to govern and drive aggressive release schedules by balancing quality and risk.
• Ability to assume a lead role that includes technical consultation, team guidance and following through on delivery.
• Be willing to participate in the design, development, testing, implementation and support of all systems.
• Liaise directly with stakeholders to validate any solution.
• Be willing to enhance technical skills in order to contribute to their automated testing efforts.
• Creating and executing test cases for development items, including:
• Discussing changes with developers
• Analysing and assessing potential impact of changes
• Formulating appropriate scenarios
• Raising defects during testing
• Executing regression testing

Technical Profile They Are Looking For

Programming Concepts

• Good understanding of programming in general, java & selenium is considered a strong asset
• Strong hands on working knowledge of SQL is required
  
  

Qa

• Analytical /practical – being able to create and execute test plans/test scenarios that are efficient and provide the best coverage with the least amount of test cases
• Proficiency in black box and white box testing techniques
• Proficiency in software testing techniques, testing tools, defect tracking systems (JIRA) in an agile working environment
• Up to date knowledge of software testing design and testing methodologies
  
  

Required Experience And Skills

• 5+ years’ experience in a QA role
• QA experience as part of a software development organization is preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field
