JOB SUMMARY

Ottawa Public Health is responsible for providing public health programs and services that contribute to the physical, mental and emotional health and well-being of the residents of Ottawa, in compliance with Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care standards, protocols and guidelines and other related public health legislation. In partnership with the people and communities of Ottawa, Ottawa Public Health improves and advocates for health and well-being through prevention, promotion and protection.



You are responsible for providing research, statistical data analysis, writing grants and/or research proposals, focused on mental health and substance use health, specifically supporting the Ottawa Gambling Harm Prevention Network.

Experience working with StatsCan Research Data Centers (RDC) is considered an asset.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 3 year university degree in Business Administration, Human Sciences or a related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience

KNOWLEDGE

  • Research, data collection and analyses methodologies
  • Project management principles and practices
  • Word processing, database and statistical analysis packages for microcomputers (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, MS Project, Visio, Web Publishing)
  • Business Intelligence tools an asset
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

  • Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing required.
