To lead MRP / Demand Planning for assigned TCTS projects and undertake ownership of project material delivery from material planning to delivery at site. Where required, responsible for the effective and timely execution of purchasing activities for an assigned group of commodities and/or services to provide an uninterrupted flow of goods and/or services required by the organization at the lowest total cost while maintaining adequate quality standards and keeping inventory investment at a minimum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the prime contact for projects assigned for all activities regarding supply chain execution and performance.
  • Manage project material demand processes and forecast management for assigned Projects and is responsible for its accuracy in SAP
  • Responsible for MRP runs including results analysis, the management of the priorities and resolution of planning exceptions
  • Checks with the involvement of Tactical Buyer, Category buyer, Category Manager and Logistics the feasibility of the plans against supplier capacity and production capacity and takes required actions
  • Coordinate the performance of the transactional buyers and the logistics & warehousing team to ensure that the demand planning is implemented throughout suppliers. Trigger and follow-up expediting process as required.
  • To coordinate with Project Procurement Manager (PPM), Tactical Buyers (TB), Category Managers (CM), Engineering, PMO and Site Team as required
  • Define, plan and manage the key components (long LT or EOL) required by in-house production/NPI, by lab and by CMs associated with the project DEi.
  • Ongoing review of project material requirement dates and updated supply date to determine gaps and take actions to mitigate gaps and communicate plan as required
  • Manage the ECN and PCN release to for project design changes and analyze impact to project costs and schedule and inform team of impact where required.
  • To plan logistics activity to optimize freight costs while supporting the project site installation schedule.
  • Work closely with other functional departments to effectively manage the implementation of changes in requires to mitigate the impact to the project and/or company (e.g., cost and schedule)
  • Responsible for the effective and timely execution of purchasing activities for an assigned group of commodities and/or services to ensure an uninterrupted flow of goods and/or services required by the organization at the lowest total cost while maintaining adequate quality standards and keeping inventory investment and loss at a minimum.
  • Becomes knowledgeable of assigned specific group of goods and/or services, including their uses and application, their sources of supply and availability, price, quality, geographical/transportation requirements, and market conditions.
  • Reviews all received requisitions of required goods and/or services for completeness: including but not limited to part number, description, quantities, delivery dates, special terms and/or conditions, appropriate approvals and the designated point of receipt.
  • Monitors open transactions through completion/closing to ensure Supplier meets its contractual obligations. Immediately address any circumstances that may cause a delay or could impact Supplier’s capability to meet its obligations to avoid or minimize the impact to the maximum extent possible on the company.
  • Work closely with other functional departments to effectively manage the implementation of changes in requires to mitigate the impact to the project and/or company (e.g., cost and schedule)
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Issue and negotiation of RFQs up to $75K CAD
  • Build, maintain and extend relationships with internal departments such as Operations, Project Management, Category Management, Logistics, Quality, Engineering and within the Procurement department
  • Contribute to the Procurement savings targets, KPIs and its mission and vision
  • Other duties as requested or delegated by Manager, Director or VP

Required Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as a Supply Chain Lead or Material Planner in an electronics facility, manufacturing or project based environment; rail signaling or automotive experience preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer in an electronics facility, manufacturing or project based environment; rail signaling or automotive experience preferred
  • A Bachelor’s of engineering or degree in Supply Chain Management or Business or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPIM, CSCP or SCMP Certification is an asset
  • PMP Certification an asset

Travel to project sites, contract manufacturer or supplier location may be required, approximate percentage of travel 10. There may be times when you would be required to work after hours to accommodate meetings and conference calls with a contract manufacturer or supplier located in a different time zone.
