Standard BioTools is looking for a Product Manager, Flow Cytometry. The individual will report to the Director of Flow Cytometry Product Management. This individual will be responsible for implementing the global product line strategy for the Flow Cytometry reagents, and service products. They will coordinate product management activities in all types of projects related to flow cytometry products with emphasis on reagent product development projects to support our content strategy. This cross functional role will include management of on-market products, new product development, product life cycle management, and product positioning/differentiation.

The incumbent will work closely with R&D, Marketing, Product Applications, and Worldwide Sales to drive product line growth. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, confidence and credibility to clearly communicate the value of the product/platform portfolio.

This is a temporary 12-month, full-time hybrid role located in Markham, Ontario.

Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Working closely with the Director of Flow Cytometry Product management, they will gather, analyze, and act on the product, market, customer, and competitive insights.
  • Develop comprehensive user and product requirements in support of new product development.
  • Lead/shepherd products through the new product development process, ensuring adherence to milestones.
  • Ensure clear messaging, positioning, and sales tools are in place to support market products.
  • Manage the end of the product life cycle and address any key obsolescence issues.
  • Work closely with Marketing, R&D and Project Management to execute programs and deliverables.
  • Ensure there is appropriate communication both horizontally and vertically, commitment to a transparent and collaborative culture
  • Prepares product management deliverables for phase gate and change control meetings
  • Good understanding of the strategic objectives of the business unit and able to lead project teams in delivering to such objectives
Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in flow cytometry technology and market is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of work experience in life sciences, biotechnology
  • 1+ years of product management experience
  • Experience in product life cycle management and product launch processes
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people or functions.
  • Able to develop credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time
