Position Description:This position is responsible for the strategic sourcing & purchasing of direct/indirect materials & indirect services within the scope of supply chain. The role is also responsible for inventory management ensuring we have the optimal inventory levels. The position will be responsible for the identification & realization of initiatives aimed at improving the overall performance of assigned spend categories. Analyzing controls & procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness will be a cornerstone of the role.

Functions, Duties, Tasks
  • Deliver procurement savings target for total PEI third party expenditures.
  • Develop annual productivity plans in accordance with the planning cycle & timelines.
  • Ensure purchasing targets are met while respecting compliance needs, all laws & internal SOP’s.
  • Process & monitor purchase orders/requisitions for the site.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead-times, & minimum order quantities with suppliers on an annual basis to support budgeting practices (strong negotiator).
  • Analyzes inventory levels, articulates the data outcomes makes recommendations to management monthly.
  • Collaborates with the Global Data Steward responsible for the site to ensure set up new of vendors manage and purchasing master data.
  • Leverages superior analytical skills to collaborate with leadership on inventory levels, service level agreements, supplier issues, and other material planning aspects.
  • Lead internal group to implement an ongoing vendor KPIs/supplier scorecard and develop strategies for improving poor performers and/or sourcing second suppliers for critical materials and developing supplier scorecards.
  • Leverage the Elanco Global Procurement team & act as the key business partner for the Canadian shared country procurement organization regarding PEI needs.
  • Review quotes and contract language escalating to the Elanco Global resource where appropriate
  • Support quality group as it relates to supplier compliance initiatives including aid in maintaining an approved supplier list.
  • Review MRP reports & process purchase orders for materials requirements from approved suppliers.
  • Work with supply chain to ensure materials are on-hand, on time, & available to support technical operations schedules by following up on deliveries. For delays, provide timely communication to the appropriate internal customers.
  • Collaborate with supply chain planners to maintain inventory levels in accordance with organization goals, by reviewing & maintaining MRP data.
Minimum Qualifications (education, Experience And/or Training, Required Certifications)
  • A post-secondary education in a related/equivalent field is required.
  • Must have 5 years of experience in a similar capacity (Procurement/Supply Chain/Logistics).
  • Exceptional SAP/ERP knowledge is required.
  • Must have excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be a strong negotiator who is driven to succeed.
  • Must have strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • An CPP, PMAC, CPIM designations is an asset.
