We are looking for talented software engineers to join our growing team and to work on interesting software engineering problems. You’ll be part of a distributed agile team, working to overcome data movement and transformation problems at scale.

In this role, you will …

• Grow, by working with new technologies and on difficult challenges.
• Spend time thinking as well as coding
• Work on our in-memory analytics database
• Implement optimal data structures for storage and analysis.
• Optimize and improve query processing algorithms.
• Be part of a team building backend components for a scalable, secure SaaS platform.
• Proactively identify and recommend changes to optimize performance and scalability.
• Give, receive and act on feedback and code reviews.
• Communicate and work closely with management to schedule delivery of feature sets, estimate task timeframes, and follow agile iteration processes.
• Actively participate in product planning sessions.
• Challenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions.
• Work closely with product managers to ensure work meets functional business requirements.

You have …

• An enquiring mind
• Experience with advanced concepts like multi-threading, writing optimised code or dealing with large amounts of data.
• An enjoyment of problem solving
• Strong Experience in Java
• Understanding of data structures, data modelling and software architecture.
• Experience with agile development and test-driven development.
• Any experience with functional languages such as Scala, F# or Haskell would be advantageous.
• Experience with technologies like Docker, Lambda, ECS and AWS Batch is also highly desirable.
