About the Role

Based out of our Toronto office, the Strategic Pricing Manager will b e responsible for developing competitive pricing strategies to help drive sales and profitability across multiple business lines and markets in Canada and the U.S. Reporting into the VP, Finance, the Strategic Pricing Manager will also be working closely with the Sales, Operations, Product and Finance teams to devise, analyze and implement pricing packages to meet company goals and respond to clients’ pricing requirements.

The ideal candidate will be a persistent self-starter with strong experience in consulting, development of pricing strategies and negotiations, excellent attention to detail, strong analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities:
Lead the research, analysis, strategy and development of the company’s corporate pricing models across multiple service offerings and geographies in Canada and the U.S., while collaborating closely with clients and internal teams (i.e. Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product).
Establish a defined set of operational and financial parameters to evaluate pricing opportunities and ROI.
Perform profitability analysis, business case analysis, competitive evaluation and financial risk assessment on all strategic opportunities relating to pricing.
Analyze and anticipate corporate pricing trends across multiple markets/service offerings and evolve corporate pricing programs accordingly.
Document and maintain detailed database of pricing structure of all approved offers.
Work with Sales and Marketing teams to drive average deal size and act as a key resource on go-to-market strategies that impact pricing and revenue generation.
Discover, analyze and gain buy-in for new opportunities to drive value and grow revenue across a customer’s lifecycle.
Support ad-hoc strategy and analyses, make informed recommendations and present them to Senior Executives.
Ensure pricing policy is effectively integrated into the customer experience.
Implement continuous pricing improvements and processes, including impact to product roadmap, billing capabilities, operational execution and customer experience.

Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, accounting, mathematics, statistics or a related field with 5+ years of progressive experience in pricing management and negotiations for B2B customers.
Background in logistics, fulfillment and warehousing industry is an asset.
Strong analytical skills and experience in synthesizing very large data sets and building complex models from scratch to forecast the impact of pricing changes.
Ability to defend recommendations, negotiate trade-offs, build alignment across stakeholders and accept feedback.
Deep expertise in quantitative and qualitative customer validation techniques, including customer surveys and interviews to stress test customer/market segmentation, pricing models, KPIs, etc.
Aptitude to leverage technology to drive process and technical improvements.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to manage projects, leads internal and external meetings and follow-up on actions.
Functional knowledge of Looker, Salesforce.com, CRM and querying databases is a strong asset.
Proficient in MS Office tools with the ability to manipulate and calculate large data sets in Excel, including the use of pivot tables, functions/formulas.
Strong customer service focus with an ability to communicate effectively with clients, all levels of the organization and partner with key stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and records management skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
An analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
Ability to prioritize and deliver results independently and while working with a team in a highly fast-paced, high-growth environment.
