Pricing Administrator

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for compiling and managing base tariff and customer rating agreements within company system. This includes maintenance of rates in the pricing tables, oversight of rate renewals and annual price increases, and regular update of ancillary service prices and fuel surcharges. It will be required to work with large volumes of data to analyze customer shipping profiles, use of analytic tools in excel, and gathers competitive market info. In addition, this role requires a high level of understanding of a discount method of pricing management and contract rate management principles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Administration of rate uploads to company system

· Compile and analyze market data for administrating bi-monthly price changes relating to fuel surcharges

· In support of the sales organize, analyze customer data to recommend rates for new customers and contract renewals

· Preparation of rate packages for the sales team

· Management of appropriate price, rate, discount data for customers in the company system

· Evaluate exceptional rate requests and make recommendation to Pricing Director based on profitability and competitive threat

· Maintain a competitive analysis of rate structures and the company’s marketplace positioning

· Participate in annual budget process as required

· Prepare various ad hoc analysis as requested by senior management

· As requested by sales, participate in presentations to customers

· Key resource in the pricing department and under the direction of the Director of Pricing, identify process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, lead departmental projects and initiatives. Including, work with cross functional sales, operations and accounting teams to achieve desired results.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

· College/University degree in business or economics is desired

· Advanced MS Access and MS Excel skills

· Advanced Crystal Report skills an asset

· Excellent reasoning skills with the ability to communicate financial rationale to non-financial audience

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to tight deadlines

· Demonstrated drive, persistence, and initiative

· Experience in the transportation industry an asset
