We are seeking five qualified individuals for the role of Predictive Maintenance Supervisor. Please note that this is not a fly-in, fly-out operation and will be based in Labrador West, NL requiring candidates to work 8-hour days, 5 days of the week


Job Responsibilities:

  • Improve and optimize the maintenance program based on the best practices in mining industry. Provide emphasis on the implementation and optimization of Predictive Maintenance Strategies.
  • Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Facilitate and perform data collection, analysis, and report generation for Predictive Maintenance activities using technologies such as thermal imaging, ultrasound assessments, vibration analysis, and oil analysis.
  • Help in management of existing and potential risks to achieve the strategic objectives of the organization regarding health, safety, and environment (HSE), equipment capacity, quality, productivity, and maintenance costs.
  • Develop, implement, and optimize, Predictive maintenance program (Vibration Monitoring, IR, Lubrication Analysis, etc.) to ensure accurate asset life estimations and facilitate in maintenance planning.
  • Provide technical support and investigate asset failures to determine root cause/s and suggest corrective actions.
  • Develop KPI’s to quantify the performance of developed condition monitoring program.
  • Major Accountabilities:
    • Supervise workforce to provide direction, leadership, and coaching (50%)
    • Condition Monitoring/PDM Program Development and Optimization (40%)
    • Defect Elimination and Root Cause Analysis (5%)
    • Managing the Asset Life Cycle (5%)


Skills, Qualifications, Education:


  • The candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Bachelor’s in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical)
  • Recognized competencies in lubrication and/or condition monitoring (Level 2 Vibration, Level 2 Lubricant Analyst)
  • Must have 4 or more years of heavy industry related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment.
  • Should have mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance practices.
  • Must understand the use of computerized maintenance management systems. (Ellipse, SAP)
  • Must possess the ability to function efficiently under pressure.
  • Should be able to demonstrate ownership.
  • Must insist on the highest standards possible.
  • Must demonstrate empathy and concern for fellow team members.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Required)

The following competencies or certifications will also be highly considered:

  • Recognized competencies in lubrication and/or condition monitoring (Level 2 Vibration, Level 2 Lubricant Analyst, Level 2 Ultrasonic)
  • Experience with implementation and optimization of online condition-based monitoring systems.
  • Professional Engineer (PEng.) Status.
