If you have questions, please feel free to ask during your interview.Workplace EnvironmentThis role can sit in the following cities: Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Red DeerJob DescriptionThis role is part of the Operations Systems team and is responsible for assisting in the deployment and upkeep of operational technology at Purolator Courier including ARC, mobility, and soft automation projects. The Operations Technologist will be involved in other technical projects relating to revenue and visibility.Specific Accountabilities
  • Maintenance and repair on ARC technologies and other specialized equipment
  • Develop and analyze reports to improve performance
  • Work with technology development team on development and deployment of new devices
  • Assist in trouble shooting of technology issues
  • Work with technology team on ARC and Trak3 related projects
  • Participate and/or manage various projects within Operations Systems umbrella
Qualifications
  • Exemplifies and consistently demonstrates our core competencies of communication, innovation, change management, relationship building and leadership
  • Ability to work in team environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Strong technical background and analytics to understand propriety components and assist with trouble shooting.
  • At least 1 year experience with repairs/upgrades on technical equipment
  • Understanding of cube and reweigh process within the courier industry
  • Experience with overhead scanning and cubing technologies
  • Understanding of automation in courier industry
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and Software Development Methodologies
  • Ability to work flexible hours (including weekend work)
  • Ability to travel (personal vehicle required) primarily within Northern Alberta
  • Ability to lift heavy objects
Preferred Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering/Electronics/Technology or Computer Science or related experience and technical skills.
  • Previous experience associated with Transportation/Logistics and express movement of goods and mobility equipment
