Job Description

Can you?
  • Manage and oversee the operation and staffing of all warehouse and delivery processes for 3 Distribution Centres.
  • Drive initiatives and ensure overall business objectives and goals are met.
  • Act as liaison representing the operations department to all other departments.
  • Responsible for tracking of KPI’s, PFP, Recognition program.
  • Work with the DC Managers to establish staffing, resource and budget requirements through short and long term planning.
  • Lead, Coach and develop DC Managers to meet organizational and personal goals.
  • Responsible to ensure that each DC has appropriate procedures and practices in place for the security and safekeeping of company assets.
  • Oversee the work of the DC Managers sourcing, final interviewing and recommendations of new hires.
  • Oversee the administrative duties for all DC Managers (Vacation requests, health days, personal days, PIP’s etc.).
Qualifications

Do you have?
  • A college diploma in a related field? A university degree or postgraduate certificates are considered an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years’ previous experience in a warehouse/delivery environment or in a supervisory/management role is required.
  • Knowledge and understanding the provincial transportation rules and polices (ex. log books, trip inspections and upcoming changes to digital requirements) is required.
  • Thorough understanding of the delivery experience, with the ability to implement change.
  • Inventory knowledge/experience (including the RTV process).
  • A good working knowledge of a current ERP/WMS system is required; experience with Oracle is a definite asset.
  • Experience in managing in a unionized environment (as well as non-union) and e-commerce – would be a big asset!
Are you able to?
  • Effectively lead, coach, mentor, train and maintain performance management of the DC managers and management team.
  • Improve the delivery experience for all associates and customers alike.
  • Work on a flexible schedule – 7 day operations where days off might not be on the weekend
  • Be a leader and support and provide advice and guidance to DC Manager’s on various operation challenges that impact financial results (one delivery, staffing/resources, equipment, etc.) Liaise and maintain relations with external vendors, clients, customers, etc. in a respectful way at all times
  • Regularly travel to DC’s.
