Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Production of drawing packages for industrial, commercial, and institutional buildings
  • Manage projects from design through construction
  • Direct and coordinate mechanical designs, and drawings to ensure compliance with work order requirements
  • Development of designs for mechanical building systems
  • Direct, review, and approve project design changes
  • Confer with management to discuss project specifications or procedures
  • Provide expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems
  • Create technical reports, documentation, calculations, and sketches
  • Perform calculations, specify, and select equipment
  • Engage in meetings with clients regarding project reports and findings

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of work experience in mechanical engineering with a focus in mechanical engineering/design for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings
  • Strong background knowledge in Building Design with an emphasis on mechanical systems (HVAC/Plumbing/BAS)
  • Ability to do your own design + CAD
  • Highly effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility of shifting priorities and deadlines
  • Familiarity with the LEED accreditation process is an asset
