The Materials Planner at our Amherst, Nova Scotia bakery will provide support to the bakery facility operations team in the areas of finance, operational activities, Supply Chain, data processing, and analytics. It is a great opportunity for someone to develop valuable cross-functional expertise.
This role will be working in our Amherst facility, Located in the Amherst industrial park, which produces fresh breads and rolls for Canadian retail and grocery stores. The Amherst facility employs 100 non-union highly dedicated team members in a high-performance team environment.
Core Accountabilities
- Support operations staff with SAP troubleshooting, closing work orders, process orders, or other admin functions.
- Ordering finished goods from across the country for the Atlantic Provinces.
- Provide vacation support to other staff members. Backfill tasks related to Payroll, SAP, Material ordering.
- Maintain and organize SAP-related documentation and ensure proper completion by the operations team.
- Track and monitor training completion and maintain all records. Schedule training as required.
- Determining the required materials and generating purchase orders.
- Perform critical inventory tasks to ensure the correct amount of materials are in stock
- Direct point of contact with Vendors and Customers.
- Coordinating between the production and other departments
- Perform administrative duties in a proactive approach to resolving suppliers issues, material shortages, and product requirements
- Support the facility with month-end and year-end financial tracking and troubleshooting.
- All Other Duties as Assigned
- Good to have a High school Diploma or College Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- SAP experience would be an Asset.
- Good to have experience working in supply chain/ Food manufacturing.
- Someone who enjoys Customer service and Data Entry.
- Intermediate computer skills. (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Should be focused on detail orientation, analytical skills, and Multi-Tasking.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative with results and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to communicate to all employees at all levels with tact and friendly positive attitude
- Great team player and willingness to jump into projects as required
