Wood is seeking aMarketing and Business Development Lead to join the Conventional Energy Team in Calgary.

Overview

Reporting to the VP, Business Development & Strategy, the Marketing and Business Development Lead

is responsible for the execution of marketing and business development activities that support Wood’s Business Development initiatives, objectives and strategies.

Business Development
This is not a client facing sales role but is a critical supporting role for our sales team and our overall business development strategy.
Tasks and activities include:
  • Aid in the development of sales materials that support regional strategy
  • Develop sales material including
    • Presentations
    • Executive Summaries
    • Non-proposal content: e.g. Statement of qualifications
    • Case studies/ profiles
  • Maintain presentation database
  • Support account management activities: e.g. account plans, tactical activities
  • Assist the business development team with CRM entry, weekly reporting, and internal communications
  • Conduct market research including competitor information, client announcements, investor reports, capex/opex spend and research on emerging markets/technologies
  • Manage the customer satisfaction program
  • Support the proposal team on an as-needed basis including formatting, CVs, experience lists and creation of non-technical content

MarComms

  • Act as brand ambassador and local point of contact for Company templates, toolkits, etc.
  • Event marketing – plan and organize multiple events such as webinars, safety days, customer appreciation events and industry events. Responsibilities include securing budget, confirming venue and menu, maintaining invitation list, inviting clients, managing reception at event and post event feedback
  • Conferences & Industry Events – coordinate conference presence and attendance including securing sponsorship and registrations, providing logos/bios, ordering and distributing swag, developing presentations, profiling on social media, pulling marketing materials, running booth and acting as conference point of contact
  • Develop marketing collateral and supplies including brochures, trade show booths, banners, swag, etc.
  • Write and publish journal articles, internal news articles, advertisements, and press releases
  • Provide communication support for VP Conventional Energy Canada – responsibilities include organizing townhalls, writing emails and responding to internal and external communication requests
  • Create content, internal and external, including speeches, presentations and/or written communications on behalf of Canadian Leadership Team
  • Interface with Wood MarComms functional team
Skills / Qualifications:
Experience
  • Minimum of five years’ experience working in business development and/or marketing support in a professional services organization
  • Oil and gas industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience with local professional associations and marketing firms is desirable
Education
  • Post-Secondary education in business administration, marketing, communications or related equivalent years of experience.
Skills
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent customer-focus and service delivery skills
  • Strong organizational, coordination, problem solving and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong proofreading, editing and business software skills (style, format, grammar, etc.)
  • Experience in marketing techniques (layout, graphics, value proposition) preferred
