This position is located in Toronto.

As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Duties

The Manager, Industry Engagement & Stakeholder Management, will play an important role within the newly formed function of the Data Collection Modernization Team in the Risk & Data Analytics Division at OSFI. Reporting directly to the Director, this position will plan, coordinate, and execute industry communications and consultations, in addition to providing stakeholder management expertise as part of OSFI’s initiative to [i] transform its data collection technology, [ii] develop regulatory data standards, and [iii] enhance processes needed to meet its information requirements. This role will require coordination and engagement with key internal and external stakeholders, including the Bank of Canada, CDIC and various financial industry associations representing regulated entities (e.g., Canadian Bankers Association, Trust Companies Association of Canada, Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association, Insurance Bureau of Canada, etc.).

Responsibilities will include communicating and liaising with relevant industry associations and regulated entities, establishment of industry forums to jointly develop regulatory data standards, driving stakeholder participation in the transformation initiative, and assisting with the development of various supporting strategies to facilitate the implementation/adoption of new data collection technologies and processes by industry participants.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION:
  • Successful completion of a university degree (minimum of a Bachelor’s degree) in business, commerce, finance, mathematics, accounting, computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:
  • Recent* and significant** experience participating in a transformative data or technology project involving a diverse set of internal/external stakeholders
  • Experience in developing, executing, and managing communication and stakeholder engagement strategies with financial industry participants/groups (banking, insurance)
  • Experience in coordinating and managing diverse stakeholder forums, working groups or projects related to data and/or technology initiatives

  • Recent experience is defined as experience that has been acquired within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that is normally acquired by continuously exercising the functions for a period of at least 2 years.

ASSET CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Relevant project, technical or business relationship certification(s) (e.g. PMP, BRMP, TOGAF, etc.), or

OSFI’s Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five-minute walk from LRT and STO stops.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
