Eaton is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This position is based at our Airdrie, Alberta facility.

Position Overview

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, and repair of any mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic equipment or components that support the production and facility operations for the LVCA facilities in Airdrie, Canada.

In This Function You Will
  • You will repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment, machines and components.
  • You will perform preventative maintenance duties
  • You will maintain service equipment, work area, maintenance tool crib and spare parts inventory.
  • You will assist with installing new equipment as required
  • You will move machinery and equipment when required
  • You will coordinate the work of outsourced mechanical contractors performing work for or within the plant

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Requirements:
  • Grade 12 High School diploma or GED
  • Completed an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) or Electrician apprenticeship program
Preferred (Basic) Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of fabrication and production machinery experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with measurement, machine, and hand tools, e.g., grinder, band saw.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with lockout-tagout programs
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience troubleshooting/repairing hydraulic equipment
  • Current Fall protection certification
  • Current Aerial lift certification
  • Previous Forklift certification
  • Previous spill containment training

  • Effective communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to aid outside contractors and specialists needed for our business
