NOTE: This is a remote, full-time permanent, work-from-home position and is open to all applicants from across Canada. We will provide you with everything you need to succeed in your role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Lead Frontend Engineer, you will be at the forefront of new and exciting projects which are designed to assist our customer base with their vehicle purchases and help make the end-to-end process as stress-free as possible, focusing on our E-Commerce platform. You will be working with the existing frontend team and ensure the technical standard of our team is kept high. You will also be a key member of our technical decision-making process.

This position works closely with other departments to gather requirements and work through projects in addition to delivering projects within scope/timeline, and be able to communicate to both technical and non-technical stakeholders when a given project is at risk.

What You Should Already Have:

• Currently making key technical design decisions
• Diagraming/documenting technical decisions for your frontend team
• Leading the technical side of frontend engineering teams
• Solid understanding of the latest ES6+ features
• Modern JavaScript framework experience (VueJS, React, Angular)
• Experience consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Working within a responsive single page application
• Experience with CSS and SASS/SCSS, frameworks including Buefy, Vuetify, Bootstrap
• Knowledge and syntactical proficiency of HTML5 spec
• Build deploy tools including npm/webpack/grunt/gulp
• Experience with Github/Gitlab/Bitbucket and release management
• Ability to make judgment calls on technical decisions
• Proven experience of understanding business objectives and creating technical roadmaps to achieve those objectives
• Good interpersonal communication skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience with managing a team of developers, not just on the technical side
• Conducting 1:1s with your team members
• Experience with server-side rendering - Nuxt.js and Next.js
• Setting up CI/CD pipelines for frontend codebase
• Knowledge or working experience in AWS
