Landfill Operator

SECURE’s Environmental Solutions team is currently looking for motivated and dedicated Landfill Operator to join our growing team in Fort McMurray.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

• Responsible for proper equipment operation
• Administering scale operations and data entry
• Conducting ongoing equipment maintenance
• Maintaining general housekeeping duties
• Ensuring landfill and building maintenance
• Collecting random samples

Qualifications/Competencies
The individual in this role will have:

• A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience with heavy equipment operations and computer systems
• Valid and current safety tickets, including; H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, WHIMS, TDG
• Previous Landfill Operations experience an asset
• A strong attention to detail, communication skills and with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment
• Must be able to document their work, perform and manage cross shift communication and ensure strategic communication with multiple stakeholders
• Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues
• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and safe work practices
• A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
