IT Project Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated, self-starter for an IT Project Coordinator position with the Alberta Energy Regulator. You will be responsible, among other things, for coordinating project activities, maintaining and updating the project documentation, managing assignments, monitoring progress, preparing presentations, and communicating to the project teams.

You must be detail-oriented and be able to effectively strategize a plan, direct and monitor projects. As a team member within the Network Operations and Software Services group, the IT Project Coordinator will be engaged in assisting multiple capital projects simultaneously across the IMT Branch. You are not a paper-pusher; you are responsible for assisting in keeping projects moving forward by making sure project managers have what they need.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring successful project development and implementation of key branch initiatives using project management methodologies and tools

  • Work with project team and program managers on project/program deliverables and act as a backup when needed. Create, manage, and coordinate key project artifacts including schedule, budget, status reports and facilitate signoffs. Participate in projects related to the cloud migration and digital transformation strategies of the organization

  • Work with vendors to define statements of work, coordinate tasks/activities, align timelines and assist with SAP/supply chain support

  • Support Workfront and SharePoint administration by performing maintenance, suggesting improvements, and adding information into these sites within the branch. Perform quality audits on projects, ensuring information is current and accurate

  • Contribute to the design, development and delivery of project tools, processes, and guides. Support change management methodologies and development of processes. Assist with lessons learned reviews. Administer branch metrics and help to develop new metrics

  • Setup and facilitate meetings (i.e. take notes, help coordinate break out groups), and onboard new team members.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary degree in Business, Computer Science, or related discipline

  • 3 to 5 years of project coordination experience or similar role

  • Project Management Professional Certificate is an asset

  • Certified Associate in Project Management is an asset

  • PROSCI Change Management Certificate is an asset

  • Basic knowledge of project management principles, methods, and techniques

  • Experience working with third party vendors

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, SAP, and SharePoint

  • Ability to handle multiple planned and unplanned project tasks, roles, and responsibilities

  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision

  • Have a high-speed internet connection with a minimum of 50 Mbps for downloads and 30 Mbps for uploads when working remotely.
