Project/Program Overview: This position is with the Enterprise Information Technlogy Cyber Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Team.

The mission of the Cybersecurity Team at GDMS-C is to safeguard our organization’s confidential information, defend our personnel from cyber threats, and protect our brand reputation as a respected member of the global defence industry.

The Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Team Goals:

  • Maintain compliance and audit-readiness while evolving to address new technology, improve process effectiveness, and leverage automation; and
  • Support existing formal frameworks used to govern IT while ensuring compliance with new requirements and standards.

Our first and foremost priority remains the health and safety of our colleagues. As a result, this role will be working remotely for the foreseeable future. The primary location of this role is Ottawa
Job Description: Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Cyber Security Manager and the Team Lead for IT Compliance and Governance:

  • Assist in developing, implementing and maintaining a compliance program for GDMS-C
  • Support both internal audits and audits conducted by external parties
  • Conduct assigned continuous monitoring activities to ensure ongoing compliance
  • Collect metrics to measure improvements and assist in the evaluation of risk
  • Assist with process improvement initiatives that help improve compliance and/or increase efficiency
  • Update policies, procedures, work instructions
  • Assist with IT communications
  • Ensure that the communications are concise, user-focused, timely and accurate

Basic Qualifications:

  • College diploma or university degree in a related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Information Technology (IT)
  • Understanding of computer systems and integration capabilities
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
