Position Overview:

LawDepot.com is currently expanding and looking to recruit a HR Talent Acquisition Specialist in Edmonton, Alberta. This position will be responsible for finding and keeping great talent in the organization. This is a full-time permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct full cycle recruiting efforts (ex. interviewing, job postings, resume screening, phone screening, reference checks, offer letters) for various positions across the organization
  • Craft job descriptions and determine the key knowledge, skills and abilities needed for the role
  • Source candidates through multiple channels, as well as proactively reach out and attract talent
  • Develop interview assessments that lead to excellent employee selection decisions
  • Align recruiting efforts with the overarching business strategy
  • Build strong relationships with our business units and develop a great understanding of department needs
  • Facilitate a positive impression of the company with candidates and make them want to be a part of our organization
  • Deliver a great onboarding experience for new hires and stay engaged with employees throughout their employment with the company
  • Provide guidance and support to hiring managers
  • Support other HR initiatives and projects as needed

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Education in the field of Human Resources
  • In-depth knowledge of talent acquisition activities and best practices
  • Proven ability to effectively source candidates
  • Understanding of employment law, Alberta Employment Standards and Alberta Human Rights legislation
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective relationships
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects
  • High degree of confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism
