We are seeking a Intern for a eight month term to support and work closely with the Health Innovation team members as well as liaise with the Marketing & Communications team, and other groups at Alberta Innovates on a variety of projects to support the impact being made within the Health Innovation portfolio. This position will conduct data analysis, synthesize project summaries, support public facing workshops and events, and increase awareness of the impact health investments are making to Alberta.

Job Details

Main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Write content for various purposes (including reports and presentations) to convey the importance of the work being done by our investees.
Assist the health innovation team members with the review of reports from investees and provide input on any issues that may arise. Draft new program material for various investment projects and assist at various events.
Work with colleagues across the corporation to conduct research and analyze portfolio data.
Conduct environmental/jurisdictional scanning related to cutting edge trends in health innovation and ecosystem supports.

Qualifications and skills we are looking for:
Current enrolment in or a recent graduate of a degree or diploma program in a related field such as lifesciences, public health, business or communications
Knowledge of health/life sciences, innovation, technology, and marketing
Working knowledge of data visualization techniques and software
Strong experience in science writing for lay audiences
Excellent writing and editing skills
Literature/data research and analysis skills
Creativity and problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
Ability to listen and take direction and feedback
Innovative and energetic; presents ideas effectively
Confident, solutions-driven, adaptable
Communications and interpersonal skills
Organizational skills
Facility with Microsoft office suite
Ability to travel
