JOB STATEMENT:

Working in a fast-paced Fintech environment, this experienced individual will be a valued member of the development team to create a hybrid advice platform for use within WWM. The team will leverage ModernAdvisor’s existing robo advice proprietary technology to create an end-to-end digital experience for clients. The successful candidate will be involved in the initial design and development of systems that will integrate directly with downstream systems (such as Dataphile) to provide functionality such as account onboarding and client updates. This role will work alongside the development team and Business Analysts to ensure project delivery commitments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Taking full ownership of features through design, development and delivery;
• Supporting existing systems and features;
• Developing back-end APIs for our web and mobile apps;
• Evolving an existing web app to a modern framework and standards;
• Improving existing system and processes on an ongoing basis;
• Integrating third party APIs;
• Creating automated test suites; and
• Deploying and supporting of applications on AWS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree in computer science or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a software developer
• Familiar with MVC frameworks such as Ruby on Rails, Spring MVC or ASP.NET MVC
• Good grasp of modern Javascript frameworks like AngularJS, Angular, React, etc.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs
• Experience using Git and Github
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in any of the following will be considered an asset: finance and investments knowledge, work experience in Fintech, Ruby on Rails and AngularJS, automated testing and CI/CD, database design and administration using MySQL, and AWS - environment setup, deployment and administration
