Job Description

This person will assist with monitoring open purchase orders to ensure receipt by supplier and secures supplier ship dates to ensure on time delivery to meet stocking requirements and customer delivery commitments.

• Reviews open purchase orders, receives order confirmation, quantity, and price acknowledgements from suppliers, and loads supplier’s promise ship dates into business systems.
• Follows up with suppliers on order status and delivery and communicates delivery information to impacted departments.
• Contacts suppliers to check status of orders to ensure merchandise, supplies, and equipment are shipped on specified shipping dates.
• Communicates with transportation company to preclude delays in transit, traces shipments in cases of en route delays, and arranges for distribution of materials upon arrival.
  

Experience

• 1 year required, 2 years preferred of directly related training and experience.
  

Education

• HS Diploma required. Bachelors’ Degree is preferred.
  

Skills

• Knowledge of air, expedited, LTL, and cartage areas preferred
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to multi-task, follow direction and work in a team.
• Strong computer skills.
• Attention to detail.
