What you’ll be working on


Our internships and Co-ops are designed to provide you with a business relevant project that will allow you to independently manage your own area of responsibility, while receiving support from an assigned Supervisor and Technical Mentor. We’ll help you discover your strengths and development areas in a challenging, fun, and supportive work environment.

Projects are scoped in alignment with your term length, and typically focus on a current construction project.

Who we need on our team

Engineering:
  • You are currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural or Industrial Engineering and will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship and possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher

  • Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently

  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships

  • Exemplify the Ideal Team Player – Hungry, Humble, Smart

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a positive attitude

  • Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries

  • If you are selected for a role in a safety-sensitive position, you will be required to successfully complete a Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug tests

  • All applications must include a current transcript


COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Policy

Bird is committed to providing a healthy and safe work environment by sustaining the strong safety culture that our clients and contractors have come to trust. As such, all full-time and part-time salaried staff employed by Bird, and any of its subsidiary or affiliated corporations (collectively, “Bird”), are required to comply with Bird’s COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Policy. Effective December 1, 2021, all employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result every three days at their own cost. All documentation submitted in relation to this Policy will only be reviewed by those responsible for the administration of this Policy and will be treated as private and confidential in accordance with the company’s policies and guidelines.
