Job Description

UPS is currently looking for Part Time Early Morning Preloader to work from our Kelowna Package Centre (near Winfield).

Job Details

• Position: Preloader (Permanent Position)
• Starting Rate: $19/hr (Conditions Apply)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday*
• Scheduled shift: 4:00AM - 9:30AM*
• Package Center location: 8826 Jim Bailey Crescent, Kelowna BC
• Schedules are based on operational requirements. Shift hours may slightly vary and may be subject to change.Regular public transit may not be available for the area during the early morning hours.
  
Preloaders are responsible for the loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning of packages in the center. The position is physically-demanding where there will be continually lifting, lowering and sliding variety of packages and processes these for the drivers to deliver. They work in a fast-paced warehouse environment close to the conveyor and roller belts, inside the trailers, cargo containers and package cars.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work Monday to Friday
• Ability to follow set procedures
• Ability to regularly lift 15-lbs up to 70-lbs (32-kg) unassisted
• Able to work with automated conveyor belts and manual rollers
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding warehouse environment
• Comfortable working inside container trailers, delivery trucks or similar equipment
• Good organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Must be able to work with and recognize postal codes, routing charts and maps

UPS Preloaders also receive Retention Bonuses** as they progress at work:

$300 payable after 30 days working

$700 payable after 90 days working

$1,000 payable after 12 months working
