Job Summary

As a member of a Technical Document Generation Composition development team, the ideal candidate will work on moderately complex software development projects. The candidate will need to obtain a good understanding of the client’s business so that one can provide technical expertise to Company’s clients. This position will require a unique blending of software development and interpersonal skills and will be expected to increase knowledge around document technology, digital print, business expertise, and data quality. This role supports various applications that receive, batch, transform and manages data to create personalized and customized documents, which will meet the needs of internal and external clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs design and development of Open Text /Dialog Extreme and Solimar applications on complex projects
  • Design graphical concepts, creatives and mockups
  • Provide image enhancements and coordinate image management process
  • Perform testing using test data providing test samples
  • Perform system runs to obtain test data and/or mockup test data when required
  • Evaluate test results and make necessary adjustments to applications
  • Assist in resolving internal/external inquiries related to input/output requirements, intended usage, strategic planning, and alignment of these elements to internal checks, controls, and quality assurance
  • Participate in team efforts to standardize process
  • Provide general hands-on demonstrations of common process
  • Provide technical expertise to customers’ queries
  • Migrate and deploy code into defined environments
  • Perform First Run Assistance in production environment
  • Adhere to Change Management processes
  • Provide effort estimate
  • Coordinate and collaborate with teams to ensure project deliverables are met on time and budget
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure clarification of requirements
  • Contribute to the upkeep and consistency of internal documentation related to issues, resolutions, usage topics, and training
  • Work in Agile-SCRUM environment
  • Troubleshoot production issues to ensure prompt and effective resolution
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve process, ensuring data privacy and secure environment
  • Participate in OKR program with personal objectives and measurable key results

Qualifications, Experience and Educational Requirements

Work Experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with OpenText Exstream Design tool, including output Solimar queues
  • Expertise in OpenText Communications server, Communication Builder, Control Center, Content Author and Liquid Office
  • Knowledge of Advanced Format Printing (AFP) output
  • Knowledge of Graphic Designing and Image enhancement concepts
  • Knowledge of PDF Adobe, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Quark tools
  • High level of computer competency in Microsoft Office Products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project, Visio), Share Point.
  • Familiarity of high-speed printing, inserting and sorting process in a high-volume production environment
  • Working knowledge of Systems/Software Development Life Cycle and Project Management concepts
  • Programming experience with SQL Server and Data communication methods an asset.
  • Strong understanding of requirement gathering concepts, testing
  • Experience with Jira defect tracking tool

Education
  • A Post-Secondary degree/Diploma in Computer Science / Information Systems or relevant technical discipline.

  • May require support outside of regular business hours and weekends
  • Safety shoes and uniforms required when attending “Operations “plant
