The Role:

This role is vital to the continued success of ApplyBoard to maintain our focus while continuing our unparalleled growth across the organization. Reporting to the COO, you will manage a team of project managers responsible for executing projects across the company. At the same time, you will work with project and program managers across the organization to create alignment on how projects are executed regardless of reporting structure. In parallel, you will be a key member of our enterprise shared services group working to drive prioritization and alignment against our company goals.

What you will do:

• Directly manage and lead a team of project management professionals responsible for executing company wide projects
• Help to scope, define and staff projects across the company
• Coach & mentor project management professionals/teams across the organization (both direct and indirect reports)
• Establish and sustain a scalable project management practice within a medium sized, global and rapidly growing company
• Develop and provide accurate and timely ongoing project and portfolio level reporting for the organization
• Provide overall strategic governance for company-level projects by establishing standards, processes and tools for effective project delivery
• Participate as an active member in enterprise shared services to drive project prioritization and alignment
• Participate or lead resource planning and capacity management across all functional areas
• Ensure effective governance of projects and management of risks, with overall responsibility for successful delivery
• Lead programs or individual projects as required
• Facilitate and support the execution of strategic company goals
  
  

What you bring:

• Minimum of 10 years experience in project/program management including experience executing both technical and operational projects
• Experience leading and managing a global team of 5-10 direct reports
• Previous experience building the project management capability at a medium sized, scale-up company (fast pace, fluid, changing quickly)
• Able to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels and to influence change
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment and bringing structure/efficiency while still being responsive to stakeholder requests
• Comfortable establishing new enterprise level formal processes like project intake requests, steering/control group committees, and budget approvals while managing stakeholder expectations
• Experience developing performance and operational metrics
• Ability to drive an innovation culture
